Longhorn Caverns

On our way home from Burnet, TX from picking up these (more on that later), we stopped off at Longhorn Caverns for a little bit of adventure fun!

After a 90 minute tour and only 1 1/2 miles of walking, the kids were ready to leave.  I guess Carlsbad is not in our immediate future.  At least the adventure put 2 to sleep!

Nailed it perfectly the first time!

With an early release on the last day of school, we celebrated with a 1 hour trapeze class.  The boys were very hesitant at first but climbed the ladder and jumped without looking back.  It probably helped that the other 2 students in the class were girls around the same age.  My boys had to look and act tough...and they did!  

6 more months until Fran's first lesson and we will hit the road as the circus family.

A great long weekend at the farm consisted of introducing the kids to Lake Granger.  A lake less than 10 miles from the farm brought back many memories of my childhood...water skiing, birthday parties, buckets of chicken, my dad, and unbearable sun burns.  Luckily I kept these kids lubed up and they LOVED the water, waves, and the new pebble beach.  Our own little Mediterranean in Milam County.

One evening I pulled out our "activity"...those retro, toxic, fume-filled bubbles you make by blowing through the itty bitty straw.  The kids were engaged until the tubes of goop were gone.

Our last sunset was enjoyed by the fire pit with s'mores! 

Trophy Time

Spring sports are FINALLY over and our house now has 3 new trophies.  Fran ended up with 6 goals for her first soccer season and the boys went undefeated, earning the 1st place trophy in their end-of-season tourney!  Go Tornadoes!!  Go Giants!!

Nothing better than enjoying a solar eclipse on a helipad in the hill country following an amazing, victorious baseball weekend!  Life is good :)

Bike to School Day ~ 2012

We had 22 kids from our street join us for doughnuts and juice this morning before we all rode together in a bike caravan to school today!  It was the perfect morning to set a perfect example for the rest of the neighborhood.

Free Range ~ Farm Chores

With 18 hours to spare this weekend between soccer, baseball, and work, we escaped to the farm. I witnessed the best Mother's Day gift ever...my boys mowing all alone! We even returned home will all extremities and appendages attached. And check out the biggest caterpillar ever...
