Spring is Here!

No more free weekends.  No more sleeping in. No more free time!

San Diego Zoo

Thursday was spent discovering the gorgeous zoo!

Exploring the area

Another fun filled day hiking Torrey Pines State Reserve, a picnic lunch under the Pacific cliffs, visiting the seals at the beach in La Jolla, and touring the USS Midway!

Legoland

A 45 minute drive north took us to Legoland for the day. Notice the empty rides, this is the best time of year to visit. Then we rushed next door to Sealife. A 2 park hopper pass was cheaper than 1, go figure!

Imperial Beach

Home away from home for the next 7 days...sun, surf, and fun!

Spring Break 2013 ~ San Diego

As a complete surprise to the kids, we secretly planned, packed and headed "out to eat for dinner" Friday night. After parking at the airport and finding out California was out final destination, they were on cloud 9!

We spent our first 2 nights with great friends we have not seen in years and Sunday morning I ran (and finished...slowly but surely) the San Diego 1/2 marathon.

Skipping Class

With spring in the air (and can't get here fast enough), I took the kids out of school an hour early and  headed downtown.  During our 2 hour canoe rental, we I managed to row all the way to Red Bud Island for a much needed snack and a little bit of exploring.
