A BUSY Weekend

It is amazing the things we can squeeze in our lives in a 24 hour period...Fran came alive on the soccer field. No goal yet but running her little heart out!

My cousin and I ran in the Diva Dash. 3.1 miles of running with multiple obstacles including a foam pit and 2 in the water of Decker Lake.

The boys had an incredible baseball game even though Will was post-morning vomit and a fever.

And we had 3 grandparents, 2 uncles, 1 aunt, and 3 cousins in town. Last but not least, Will received his First Communion during the 5:00 mass.

Will made it through mass without vomiting on the alter but begged to go to the doctor when it was over. Sure enough, positive for strep throat! He was a trooper though to stick it out all day.

Art on the Green

I took my kids on an adventure today to Laguna Gloria for Art on the Green. What was supposed to be an educational, fun outing turned into a bloody disaster. Things we learned today: Do not take your kids to play putt putt after watching The Masters a week ago and if you do make sure they all stay at least 5 feet away from the person putting!

Yes...we have a fat lip, bloody nose, and a new loose tooth but we were all tough enough to finish up the last 2 holes. The course was cool to look at but not so easy to play on.

I was most amazed by their use and creativity of zip ties...one of my favorite inventions!

Austin 1020

Sunday morning, a group of us headed to race in Austin's first ever 1020 race...10 miles, 20 bands. The course itself was boring but the live music every 1/2 mile was great! We all finished without injury and looking forward to another race this weekend.

Happy Reading

The first graders participate in a reading program each year to encourage all students to read at least 20 minutes a night. My boy finished off at 1800 minutes in 5 months!

Funeral Procession

I took the kids out of school early to give their respects to a fallen Austin Police Officer that was shot last week. Following his funeral downtown, they had a procession many miles long, leading to his hometown of San Angelo.

Easter 2012

Only Holy Saturday but we have had a hunt, made the bunny cake, pet bunnies and chicks, and attended mass with 7 readings! Unfortunately we called it a night after 2 hours at church and still never witnessed the Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, or took place with the Eucharist...but God understands. 10:30 is late with 3 kids and our intentions were good. Kids are finally asleep and the carrots are out. Until the early morning...
